Background:

Diane V. Finnegan was born in Albany, N.Y. and moved to the Central New York Area in 1966. She resides in Cazenovia, NY with her husband, John P. Finnegan. She has two college aged sons.  Her older son, Jack, attends James Madison University in Virginia, and her younger son, Patrick, attends North Carolina State University.

Diane Finnegan attended Syracuse University and firstearned a B.S. in Social Work in 1990. Her active listeningskills in family and individual counseling give her a unique insight into how to understand her clients’ true needs and desires.  This is especially true when representing clients in making as important a decision as the investment in, or sale of, a home and/or assisting clients in a life transition from one residence to another.

Diane comes from a background of 29 years as an attorney having graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1993. As an attorney, Diane specialized in general and real estate specific litigation. She brings her real estate litigation, contracts, closing, and counseling experience to bear when working with her real estate clients. Her father, Dale L. Van Epps, was a real estate developer and investor who worked as a principal for Pioneer Development Company until his untimely death from lung cancer in 2013.  As such, real estate is a family tradition for Diane Finnegan.

Diane decided to transition from the full-time practice of law to the practice of both real estate brokerage and law in order to help people accomplish their dreams of homeownership and/or getting the highest possible sale price for what might be one of her clients’ greatest assets, their home or property.  Diane holds a real estate brokerage license and license to practice law in the State of New York. She currently holds a Real Estate Brokerage License in N.C. and is actively pursuing her law license in North Carolina.

Diane Finnegan spends her free time playing tennis and golf, paddleboarding, gardening, eclectic home designing, and antiquing.

Doing what I need to make my clients’ wishes and dreams come true is my top priority.

‘’ I will not even consider a Realtor other than this expert. The power of Diane Finnegan’s representation has always exceeded my highest expectations. Keen to the most current market conditions and the protective eye of a NY Licensed attorney, all transactions have been more than favorable.

Most recently, she sold a Manlius townhouse for me at the highest price of any ever sold in this executive community of some 30+ townhouses at a 20% premium over historicals, while finding a “Parade of Homes” winner in a golf community outside of Raleigh for us to buy.

To home buyers, I would suggest that her representation saved me from missteps in the Raleigh market.

To home sellers, I would suggest listening to her direction on making your property market ready. Then, let the attorney in her negotiate the highest sale price on your behalf. The consummate professional.
